Nepal’s new prime minister has taken the oath of office at a ceremony in Kathmandu


Kathmandu, Nepal’s newly appointed prime minister took the oath of office Monday at a ceremony in Kathmandu.

Khadga Prasad Oli, the leader of Nepal’s largest communist party, was named prime minister on Sunday following the collapse of a previous coalition government.

Oli, 72, will be leading a coalition government made up of his Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist Leninist) and the Nepali Congress party, the two largest parties in Nepal. This is his fourth time serving as prime minister of the Himalayan nation.

Two deputy prime ministers and 19 ministers appointed by him also took the oath of office. He is expected to further expand the Cabinet, including members

Chief of Public Security inspects Ashoora security arrangements


Manama, Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, the Chief of Public Security, inspected the security arrangements of the Interior Ministry’s directorate for the commemoration of Ashoora, as part of the ministry’s efforts to ensure the safety and security of mourners.

Lt. General Al Hassan underscored that in line with the directives of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Interior Minister , comprehensive facilities have been provided for the season. This includes promoting community partnerships with civil societies, with the Interior Ministry’s directorates making necessary arrangements to effectively meet the requirements and service needs.

The Chief of Public Security praised the cooperation of the heads of maatem (community centres) with the relevant authorities, and expressed appreciation to all official bodies and societies that contributed to providing services.

Kingdom of Bahrain condemns terrorist attack in Moghadishu


Manama, The Kingdom of Bahrain’s strongly condemned the terrorist attack that took place in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, which resulted in the death and injury of innocent civilians.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reiterated the Kingdom’s unwavering position in rejecting criminal acts aimed at undermining security and stability.

The Ministry affirmed Bahrain’s solidarity with the Federal Republic of Somalia in confronting terrorist acts and expressed its heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and to the government and people of Somalia, wishing those injured a speedy recovery.

Bahrain strongly condemns shooting in Muscat


Manama, The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned the shooting incident in Al Wadi Al Kabir area of Muscat Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman, which caused the death and injury of a number of people.

In a statement, the Foreign Affairs Ministry denounced this heinous attack that goes against all religious and moral values and aims to destabilise security and stability of Oman.

The Kingdom of Bahrain affirmed solidarity with the Sultanate of Oman in the security measures it is taking to safeguard its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry conveyed the condolences of the Kingdom’s leadership and people to the victims’ families, Omani government, and people. The Ministry wished the injured a speedy recovery.

UAE President receives Indonesian counterpart


Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, received His Excellency Joko Widodo, the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the Indonesian President started a two-day state visit to the UAE.

HM King receives call from French President


Manama, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, received a call from His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, the President of the French Republic.

The two leaders exchanged views on regional and international topics of mutual interest.

HE President Macron expressed interest in the initiative proposed by His Majesty the King during the Arab summit to hold an international conference for peace in the Middle East, aimed at ensuring a comprehensive and lasting solution to the Palestinian cause in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy.

HM the King expressed his thanks and appreciation to the French President for the interest and support of the initiative.

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to further develop the historical ties and cooperation with France in various fields, and to work together to further promote security and peace in the region and the world.
