Tabuk Governor Receives Indian Ambassador

The Governor of Tabuk Region, Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, received the Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, and his accompanying delegation today. Prince Fahd welcomed the Indian ambassador, wishing him a pleasant stay in the region.

During the meeting, both parties discussed topics of mutual interest. The ambassador expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and praised Tabuk’s development across various sectors. He concluded the visit by presenting the governor with a commemorative gift.

Sunni Endowments Chairman meets MBZUH Chancellor

Kazan, Dr. Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futais Al Hajri, Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, met with Dr. Khalifa Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Chancellor of Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities (MBZUH), during the 5th Silk Road Conference: Significance of Religious Values in Greater Eurasia.

The event was organised by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation in collaboration with Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities.

The meeting discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation and joint efforts to achieve common goals.

Year of the Camel Initiative Highlights Camel Culture at AlMadinah Book Fair

The Year of the Camel initiative is making its mark at AlMadinah Book Fair, showcasing the pivotal role camels have played in the Arabian Peninsula’s history and culture.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture, the initiative’s pavilion offers visitors a deep dive into the world of camels, exploring their unique characteristics, historical significance, and economic value.

From breed distinctions to artistic representations, the pavilion provides educational content for all ages. Its participation aims to strengthen the profile of the Year of the Camel and underscore the animal’s enduring importance in Saudi Arabian identity.

AlMadinah Book Fair, hosted by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, runs from July 30 to August 5.

Foreign Affairs Minister attends Iranian President inauguration ceremony

Tehran, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs represented the Kingdom of Bahrain at the inauguration ceremony of His Excellency Masoud Pezeshkian, the newly elected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which took place at the Islamic Consultative Assembly in Tehran today.

Present at the ceremony were the Speaker of Iran’s Majlis (Parliament), the head of the judiciary, members of the Majlis, senior officials of the Iranian government, several heads of state and government, foreign ministers, envoys and ambassadors of countries accredited to Tehran.

The Foreign Affairs Minister conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to HE President Pezeshkian, and their wishes for the Islamic Republic of Iran and its people further progress and prosperity.

He expressed Bahrain’s interest in the development of bilateral relations between the Kingdom and Iran, leadi
ng to the restoration of normal relations and progress in further enhancing cooperation to serve common interests. Dr. Al Zayani wished Iran and its people further stability and prosperity.

The Foreign Minister was accompanied by Dr. Juma bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, the Bahraini Ambassador to Oman.

SABIC is the Exclusive Sponsor of the 2024 International Chemistry Olympiad

The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) was the exclusive sponsor of the 2024 International Chemistry Olympiad, which the Kingdom hosted for the first time-making it the first Arab country to do so. The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) organized the event in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education and King Saud University.

The CEO of SABIC, Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Fageeh, highlighted the inspiring vision of the Saudi leadership and expressed SABIC’s commitment to enhancing the Kingdom’s position in the industries, research, and technologies of chemistry.

He added that SABIC’s sponsorship aimed to showcase the Kingdom’s capability to organize global competitions and support educational efforts for talented individuals in the chemistry field. Al-Khobar Certified as a Healthy City by WHO

The World Health Organization has certified Al-Khobar as a healthy city for meeting tourism, entertainment, and health standards.

Secretary of the Eastern Region Eng. Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Jubeir highlighted the importance of this certification to promoting community participation, inter-sector cooperation to address health determinants and development, and fulfillment of the standards and requirements associated with healthy cities.

He stressed that the designation of Al-Khobar as a healthy city means commitment to further enhancing this esteemed status, and will significantly bolster Al-Khobar’s economic, social, tourism, and health standing, eliciting optimism and pride in the community.

He also highlighted the positive impression made by the city on the visiting WHO delegation that was carrying out the evaluation process, and the various models and examples reviewed for potential application in evaluating other healthy cities.

Al-Khobar Governorate boasts over 100 parks and gardens in residential areas
, green spaces covering over 2,250,000 square meters, 47 multi-use playgrounds, and 20 walkways spanning 52 kilometers. As part of the Al-Khobar Green Program, more than 150,000 trees have been planted throughout the city.

Al-Khobar Municipality is actively working on dedicating 15 kilometers to bike paths to improve the quality of life and address the needs of the elderly. These initiatives highlight projects and standards that will further enhance Al-Khobar’s status as a healthy city.

Interior Minister commends efforts in Combating Trafficking in Persons

Manama, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior, met with Brigadier Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi, Director-General of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, and directorate’s officers.

Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, the Chief of Public Security, was present.

The meeting was held on World Day against Trafficking in Persons, celebrated annually on July 30.

The minister commended Bahrain’s human rights milestones in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He highlighted the support and follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to further enhance human rights, freedom and various national work.

He said that Bahrain’s success in combating trafficking in persons and protecting its international status, for the seventh year in a row, needs more efforts to reinforce this global status.

He thanked the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, particularly the A
nti-Human Trafficking Directorate, for its sincere efforts, performance enhancement and commitment to security responsibility.

He noted the significance of benefiting from available technologies in security work to enhance security alertness and the use of artificial intelligence (AI). He affirmed the essential role of follow-up, analysis, comparison, and accuracy of information in security work in dealing with crimes, including digital crimes.

The Director-General of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science thanked the Interior Minister for his endless support in enabling the Anti-Human Trafficking Directorate to effectively carry out its security role. He commended the Chief’s follow-up on all security work and performance.

During the meeting, the minister honoured some of the affiliates of the Anti-Human Trafficking Directorate and commended their sincere efforts. He wished them the best in serving the Kingdom.

Saudi Stock Exchange Ends Trading Lower at 12064 Points

The Saudi Stock Exchange main index ended trading lower today, losing 56.75 points to close at 12064.65 points.

The total value of trading reported was SAR5.3 billion.

The Saudi Parallel Market Index (NOMU) ended the day by gaining 159.03 points to close at 26672.09, with a valuation of SAR48 million.

GCC Sec Gen met GCC Ambassadors to Indonesia during his official visit

Jakarta, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with the Ambassadors of the GCC States to Indonesia, as part of his official visit to Indonesia.

During the meeting, the Secretary General presented to the Ambassadors a briefing on the progress of joint Gulf action and the recent achievements of the Council. Views were also exchanged on means to enhance bilateral relations between the GCC States and Indonesia, including discussions on exploring new opportunities to enhance trade and investment between both sides.

Albudaiwi also praised the prominent role and valuable efforts made by the GCC diplomatic missions in Indonesia to expand the horizons of cooperation in various fields between the two sides.

On their part, the Ambassadors praised the efforts made by the Cooperation Council to enhance Gulf cooperation at the regional and international levels, and affirmed their constant endeavour to work together to achieve the common Gulf goals and develop strategic par
tnerships, in a way that contributes to achieving sustainable development and common prosperity for the GCC countries.
