President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid condemned the brutal Zionist aggression on the Al-Tabi’in School in Gaza.

He stressed in a statement that the blood of the Palestinian people will continue to bleed as long as the hand of the occupying entity remains free from accountability of the international community.

He said that “the Zionist entity, by targeting safe civilians in the Al-Tabi’in School, added another massacre to the series of massacres it committed in Gaza and the rest of the occupied territories after October 7, 2023.

An Egyptian delegation wants to invest in Babylon in the field of converting waste into electrical energy


Babylon Investment Commission announced today that it received an investment delegation from the Arab Republic of Egypt with the aim of investing in the energy sector.

The head of the commission, Abdul Jalil Al-Shajri, said, “The delegation of the Advanced Renaissance Investment Group, headed by Dr. Hussein Amin from the Arab Republic of Egypt, visited the commission, expressing his company’s desire to invest in Babylon Governorate.

He added that during the meeting, a detailed explanation of the mechanism and requirements of the project to produce electricity at a rate of 500 megawatts through the burning of solid waste, which is expected to be established in Abu Samij area in Al-Kifl District, was given, indicating that the commission has set a time frame for the purpose of completing the requirements.

Basra crude records losses for the fifth week in a row

Global oil prices recorded weekly gains driven by escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and their potential impact on supply, which supported oil prices. Brent recorded weekly gains of 3.7%, while West Texas Intermediate crude recorded weekly gains of 4.5%.

Iran: Our right to self-defense has nothing to do with Gaza ceasefire

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s representation at the United Nations confirmed that Iran has the right to legitimate defense, as its security and sovereignty were violated in the recent terrorist act carried out by the Israeli entity,” stressing that this has nothing to do with the ceasefire in Gaza.

The representation explained, according to the Iranian News Agency “IRNA” regarding what is being raised about the possibility of delaying the response until the round of negotiations next week, that the response will be in a way that does not harm the potential ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

It added, “Reaching a ceasefire in Gaza is our priority, and any agreement accepted by Hamas will be acceptable to us.”

The Iranian representation at the United Nations indicated that there are permanent official intermediary channels to convey messages between Tehran and Washington, and “both parties prefer to keep the details confidential.”

Iraq condemns Zionist attack on Al-Tabi’een School in Gaza

The Foreign Ministry condemned the barbaric Israeli attack that targeted “Al-Tabi’een” school in Al-Daraj neighborhood, east of Gaza, at dawn today.

The statement said that these repeated attacks against civilians are a flagrant violation of international norms and conventions, including international law and international humanitarian law, and show the Israeli entity’s disregard for international initiatives aimed at stopping the aggression on Gaza.

The Foreign Ministry renewed Iraq’s full solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people in their ordeal, stressing the need for the international community, and Islamic countries in particular, to take a firm and unified position to stop these ongoing Israeli crimes and provide immediate protection for the defenseless Palestinian people.

Deputy Representative of the United Nations in Iraq: We commend the role of the Iraqi government in confronting violence against women

The Deputy Representative of the United Nations in Iraq (UNAMI) Claudio Cordone praised the role of the Iraqi government in confronting violence against women and supporting their rights.

Cordone said during the conference on combating violence against women: “I commend the commitment of the Iraqi government to confront violence against women and support the rights of Iraqi women in general, and I also welcome the role of the Prime Minister in urging government agencies to expedite the implementation of decisions related to women.”

He added that “the role of the Supreme Council for Women in communicating with the Parliamentary Committee for Women, Family and Childhood is a positive example of enriching the positive role of Iraqi women, and I urge Iraqi leaders to ensure that any proposed project protects the rights of women and children in line with Iraq’s international obligations related to human rights.

He urged the Council of Representatives to adopt a law against domestic violence, as well as establis
h shelters for people exposed to violence.”
