Arabs and Turkmen of Kirkuk demonstrate this evening in rejection of the formation of the Kirkuk local government

Kirkuk, The Iraqi Turkmen Front, the Arab Alliance, the Sovereignty Alliance, and the Iraqi Turkmen Front List announced the organization of a demonstration in front of the governorate building this evening.

It called on its Arab and Turkmen masses to participate in the demonstration, rejecting the formation of the local government at the Rashid Hotel in Baghdad in the absence of representatives of the Turkmen and the Arab Alliance.

The Council of Ministers holds its thirty-third session headed by Al-Sudani.. and issues several decisions

Baghdad, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani chaired the thirty-third regular session of the Council of Ministers today, Tuesday, during which the overall conditions and general issues in the country were discussed, and a number of important economic files included in the government program and its priorities were discussed, in addition to considering the topics included in the agenda and taking the necessary decisions regarding them.

With the approach of the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, Al-Sudani renewed his previous directives to the ministries and other concerned parties to make every effort to provide the necessary services for the Husseini processions in the governorates that witness the procession of visitors heading to the holy city of Karbala, especially with regard to the services provided by the Ministries of Health, Electricity, Oil, Transport, Trade and others. His Excellency stressed the need to reduce the processions of officials, whether those assigned to provide services to
visitors or those heading for the purpose of the visit, and he also stressed the need to limit the processions of officers and direct the concerned parties to audit them.

The session witnessed extensive discussions related to the drug file and its dangers to youth, families and society, where Al-Sudani stressed the need to take strict measures against traffickers, and directed all ministries to support the Ministries of Health and Interior in playing a greater role, and carrying out their national duty in raising awareness and educating about the dangers of this deadly scourge, which has become a major challenge to the state in all its aspects, and preparing realistic plans and programs in this regard.

On the procedural side, the Council approved the Ministry of Finance allocating one billion dinars per month to the Ministry of Interior/General Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances to spend on its requirements, and the amounts allocated to it in the Federal General Budget Law will be transfer
red, provided that the Ministry of Finance establishes an independent accounting unit in the aforementioned directorate, and the Ministry of Interior prepares the accounting cadre and the spending order and informs the Ministry of Finance of that.

Based on the directives of the Prime Minister to take serious steps towards economic reform in various sectors, the Council of Ministers approved an important package of economic reform decisions to reduce government expenditures and increase the state’s non-oil financial revenues.

In the context of economic and financial reform as well, the Council of Ministers approved the recommendation of the Ministerial Council for the Economy.

Baghdad, President of the Republic Abdul Latif Rashid handed over the Republican Decree, today, Tuesday, to Ribwar Taha appointing him as Governor of Kirkuk.

The Presidency of the Republic said in a statement: “The President of the Republic received Ribwar Taha at the Baghdad Palace and handed him the Republican Decree appointing him as Governor of Kirkuk.”

Al-Sudani receives an official invitation to visit Belgrade

Baghdad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani received today, Tuesday, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Iraq, Bratislav Jejel.

According to a statement from his office, Al-Sudani expressed his congratulations to the ambassador on the occasion of assuming his duties, and wished him success in his upcoming tasks.

He pointed to the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and the availability of various investment opportunities in Iraq, calling on Serbian companies and businessmen to invest in major projects in the country, and to benefit from the great facilities provided by the government.

The Prime Minister referred to the developments in the situation in the region, especially with the ongoing escalation practiced by the occupation forces in Gaza and other Palestinian territories.

For his part, the Ambassador conveyed a verbal invitation to the Prime Minister from the Presidents of the Republic and the Serbian Prime Ministers to visit Belgrade, s
tressing the desire to establish constructive cooperation at all levels, in addition to activating joint agreements and memoranda of understanding.

The President Of The Republic Receives A Message From His Chinese Counterpart

Baghdad, The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received a message from his Chinese counterpart, delivered by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Iraq, Cui Wei, during the President’s reception of him today.

A presidential statement said that Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated the President on his birthday, wishing him success and prosperity.

The Chinese President also stressed, in his message, his great interest in developing relations with Iraq and his readiness to make joint efforts with the President to continue deepening friendly cooperation and to raise the Sino-Iraqi strategic partnership relations to higher levels.

The President of the Republic sent his sincere thanks and greetings to President Jinping for his generous feelings, praising the historical relations and bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries.

During the meeting, according to the statement, the available capabilities to consolidate the growing relations between the two countri
es were emphasized, as the President pointed to the need to expand the horizons of joint cooperation in the economic, technological and investment fields, especially the development of infrastructure and services, stressing Iraq’s welcome to the diverse Chinese expertise to contribute to the development and growth of the industrial, agricultural and education sectors.

For his part, Chinese Ambassador Cui Wei affirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening its relations with Iraq in all fields.

The ambassador also reviewed the political, economic and industrial conditions in China, stressing that the recent Communist Party meeting focused on strengthening reforms, improving production in all fields and opening up to countries of the world.

Iran gives Afghan migrants until next March to leave

Baghdad, The Commander of the Iranian Border Guard Forces called on illegal Afghan migrants to leave Iran by the end of this year today, Tuesday.

Brigadier General Ahmadi Ali Goudarzi told Iranian media outlets, “We are a host country, and these individuals have benefited from all the services provided by our country for a long time, but today the Iranian people are demanding their departure, and this is necessary in order to establish security in Iranian territory.

Goudarzi warned of “the illegal presence and recent waves of migration of Afghans who are not authorized to reside in Iran.”

Baghdad , The Chief Justice of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zaidan, discussed today, Tuesday, the Joint cooperation with the United Nations Development Program team.

The Judicial Council stated in a statement that “Zaidan received today the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ghulam Muhammad Ishaq, and his accompanying delegation.”

The statement added that “the two sides discussed joint cooperation between the judiciary and the United Nations Development Program in the field of capacity building and technological development, in continuation of the ongoing cooperation between them.”

Baghdad, The governor of Kirkuk, Rebwar Taha, confirmed working hard, with dedication and sincerity to devote and enhance coexistence among all citizens of the province.

The Governor said in his first press statement: Today, Tuesday, I received from the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, at the Baghdad Palace, the Republican Decree as the new Governor of Kirkuk Governorate. We confirm once again that we will work with all diligence, dedication and sincerity to devote and enhance coexistence among all citizens of Kirkuk Governorate, and work in the spirit of one team with all political forces and parties. We also reaffirm that we will make Kirkuk a center and a model for fraternal coexistence.”

He added: “I confirm once again that the entitlements of the Turkmen component are preserved, and they will obtain all their rights as an authentic and ancient component in our dear Kirkuk.”

He explained that in the coming period, our efforts and work will focus on reconstruction, rehabilitation of
infrastructure and improving the reality of life and living of Kirkuk citizens without discrimination.

Al-Sudani discusses developments in the region, efforts to support regional and international stability in a phone call with the US Secretary of State

Baghdad , Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa al-Sudani received a phone call late Monday night from US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, during which they discussed developments in the region and efforts to support regional and international stability.

During the call, according to a statement by al-Sudani’s media office, al-Sudani renewed Iraq’s principled position on the real reasons behind the destabilization, represented by the continued aggression on steadfast Gaza, and the necessity for major countries and international organizations to play their full role to stop the crimes committed against the Palestinian people, and to apply international laws related to perpetrators of crimes against humanity to the aggressors and stop this terrible brutality, in addition to preventing the violation of the sovereignty of the countries of the region.

According to the statement, al-Sudani stressed Iraq’s commitment to preventing any directed action that leads to a breach of security, or exposing the advisors of the i
nternational coalition to fight ISIS present in Iraq to any danger, stressing the importance of continuing communication between the two sides in order to end the coalition’s missions in Iraq, and move to bilateral security relations that serve the interest of enhancing security and stability.

For his part, Blinken reviewed the ongoing diplomatic efforts to stop the escalation, and the United States’ commitment to continuing consultations with the Iraqi side on regional issues, and supporting the path of strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries.
