662,051 pilgrims arrived in Saudi

The Saudi authorities announced that 662,051 pilgrims have so arrived to perform the Hajj rituals, which will start within a few days.

Official statistics issued by the General Directorate of Passports revealed that the overall number of pilgrims until end of yesterday had increased by 6 per cent (39,714 pilgrims) compared with the same period last year.

In a statement posted on the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), The General Directorate said 647,087 pilgrims had arrived by air, 7,969 by land and 6,995 by sea.
