8th Ministerial Meeting of China-Arab States Cooperation Forum Kicks off in Beijing

Beijing, The China-Arab States Cooperation Forum started its 8th ministerial meeting here today to discuss ways of activating and strengthening Arab-Chinese relations in various fields, especially in the economic field.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation was led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir who is the chairman of the current session.

Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the 8th ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing in which he announced his intention to hold an international conference on the Palestinian cause and his support for a permanent solution based on the two-state solution and the Arab peace initiative, which is the foundation for peace negotiations between Palestinians and Israel in order to get out of the current stalemate.

Xi also announced that China and Arab countries had agreed to establish a "future-oriented strategic partnership of comprehensive cooperation and common development."
