Makkah: The Arab Council for Childhood and Development (ACCD), under the patronage of ACCD President Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, held a workshop on the Media Observatory for Arab Child Rights in partnership with the League of Arab States and the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND). More than 25 experts in the fields of media and child rights from five Arab countries, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Libya, participated in the workshop to discuss the implementation of a new component of the observatory’s work entitled “Arab Child and Digital Environment.”
According to Saudi Press Agency, the workshop was held to review the general framework of the component in terms of its motivations, objectives, and implementation methodology in the Arab world, in light of the growing use of children’s applications and digital platforms. In his opening speech, ACCD Secretary General Dr. Hassan Al-Bilawi emphasized that the new component of the observatory discussed in the workshop, “Arab Child and Digital Environment,” affirms the child’s sustainable right to a safe media environment in all aspects of life. He highlighted the effort to empower children in this digital world amid successive industrial revolutions, aiming to harness the future of technology and its opportunities for the benefit of raising future generations.
