Cairo: Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit has received President of the Arab Tourism Organization (ATO) and member of the Higher Coordination Committee for Joint Arab Action Dr. Bandar bin Fahd Al-Fuhaid and his accompanying delegation at the league’s headquarters in Cairo. During a meeting, they discussed issues of common interest and reviewed the ATO’s plans for implementation in several Arab countries, including organizing conferences, workshops, and training programs to qualify workers in the tourism sector at both the governmental and private levels.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Secretary General of the Arab League was also briefed on Baghdad’s selection as the Arab Tourism Capital for 2025 and the ATO’s plans to collaborate with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in the Republic of Iraq to implement these plans by organizing several festivals and events on the occasion.
The Arab Tourism Capital celebration will begin on February 2, 2025, under the patronage of Iraqi Prime Minister Eng. Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, with the participation of Arab tourism ministers and the League of Arab States.
