Arab Parliament Supports Renewal of UNRWA Mandate, Emphasizes Palestinian Rights

Riyadh: Speaker of the Arab Parliament Mohamed Alyammahi welcomed the UN General Assembly's vote to renew the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) mandate for three years. He stated that this resolution shows strong international support for Palestinian rights and rejects attempts to undermine their cause. According to Saudi Press Agency, Alyammahi emphasized that the renewal is crucial amid ongoing aggression and siege faced by Palestinians, ensuring vital services continue. He noted widespread backing for additional resolutions advocating an end to the occupation and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. He called for leveraging this international consensus to halt aggression in Gaza, facilitate humanitarian aid entry, strengthen legal and diplomatic efforts against the occupation, and promote a viable political process to alleviate Palestinian suffering.
