Asian stocks mixed
SINGAPORE, Asian markets were mixed on Tuesday, AP reported.
Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose less than 0.1 percent to 22,347.14 and South Korea's Kospi lost 0.2 percent to 2,353.34. Hong Kong's Hang Seng shed 0.3 percent to 28,882.40 and the Shanghai Composite in mainland China slipped 0.6 percent to 2,841.60. Australia's S and P/ASX 200 dipped 0.3 percent to 6,194.40. Southeast Asian indexes were mixed.
Benchmark U.S. crude gained 9 cents to $68.16 per barrel in New York. It dipped 0.7 percent to settle at $68.08 per barrel on Monday. Brent crude, used to price international oils, rose 6 cents to $74.61 per barrel in London.
The dollar rose to 109.58 yen from 109.45 in late trading Monday. The euro strengthened to $1.1707 from $1.1704.
