Bahrain’s effort to maintain regional stability hailed

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met in Washington today with Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives, Ed Royce, as part of the official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the United States of America.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain's pride in the progress of historic relations and cooperation with the United States of America in the various fields, noting the keenness of both friendly countries to further develop these relations to achieve their common interests.

The Minister also praised the stances and efforts of Chairman Ed Royce in enhancing cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America at the political, military, economic and other levels.

The meeting discussed ways to counter Iran's policies that aim at undermining the security and stability of the region by interfering in the internal affairs of states and supporting terrorist militias through financing, arming and training. The Minister affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain stands in line with the United States in confronting all Iranian threats.

For his part, Ed Royce expressed his pride in the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and hailed the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain to strengthen security and peace in the region, wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.

The meeting also reviewed a number of issues of mutual interest as well as the latest regional and international developments.
