BNA director-general hails Saudi press

Bahrain News Agency (BNA) Director-General Ahmed Mohammed Al-Mannai hailed the fraternal and honourable stances of the Saudi press in support of the Kingdom of Bahrain. He hailed Saudi press for supporting Bahrain's security, stability and comprehensive sustainable development, advocating just Arab and Islamic issues and playing a vital role in promoting the spirit of moderation.

He made the statement as he paid a visit to the headquarters of "Alriyadh" and "Al-jazirah" leading newspapers in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He expressed pride at the keenness of the leaders of the two brotherly countries to bolster deep-rooted fraternal and steadily-growing partnership in all fields, enhance the role of the media in fostering the values of tolerance and peace, confront instigative and extremist ideology and protect development achievements for the sake of Gulf, Arab and Islamic peoples.

He hailed the vital contributions of "Alriyadh" and "Al-jazirah" in enriching the Arab press, thought, literature and culture through their varied and outstanding publications, newspapers and magazines. He commended, particularly, the enlightening role of "Al-jazirah", as well as its cultural magazine and other electronic publications. He also commended the contributions of "Alriyadh", "Al-Yamama" magazine, "Riyadh Daily", "Dot" and "Riyadh Book", published by Al-Yamama Group.

BNA Director General Al-Mannai reviewed with "Alriyadh" editor-in-chief Fahd bin Rashid Al-Abdulkarim and "Al-jazirah" deputy editor-in-chief Fahd bin Abdulla Al-Ajlan, means of strengthening media coordination and cooperation with the Saudi press, bin exchanging news, data and technical expertise to keep abreast of latest technological and media strides.

He stressed BNA keenness, under directives from Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, to fulfill its national media role, professionally and objectively, by publishing news, varied reports and specialized bulletins and distributing them to Arab and international media, and project the true image of Bahrain to the world and highlight its outstanding standing, under the reform project led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.

He underlined BNA work procedures in preparing news and reports, before publishing and distributing them, shedding light on different sections which include the editorial, e-media, research and information, photography and news exchange, in addition to the BNA Media Development Centre and active and influential e-media account.

Alriyadh" editor-in-chief and "Al-jazirah" deputy editor-in-chief welcomed BNA director-general and accompanying delegation to the headquarters of the two leading newspapers, hailing Bahrain's keenness on strengthening cooperation with the Saudi press and supporting the Gulf Press Union which is based in Manama.

They commended Bahrain's keenness on activating the role of Gulf Press Union to bolster professional and technical coordination and cooperation between Gulf press establishments and support the march of the GCC, Arab, and Islamic joint media work.
