Civilian casualties in raids by the International Coalition east of Syria
BAGHDAD, Civilian casualties were caused by raids by the International Coalition in the eastern city of Deir al-Zour.
"The International Coalition aircraft targeted in more than one raid civilian houses in the neighborhoods of Sousse town in the eastern suburb of Deir al-Zour and news of martyrs and wounded among civilians," the Syrian News Channel reported on Thursday.
The Syrian News Agency SANA, referring to local sources, said earlier that the International Coalition bombed the countryside of Deir al-Zour with internationally banned weapons, asserting that the Coalition bombed several areas in the town of the Hajin, 110 km east of the city of Deir al-Zour, with white phosphorus bombs banned internationally , without talking about civilian casualties.
Since March 2011, Syria has been plagued by an armed conflict in which government forces backed by Russia and an international coalition led by the United States have been confronting various armed groups, most notably the extremist Al-Nasra Front and Daesh organization, which the United Nations lists them as terrorist movements.
