Head Of Border Crossing Authority, Turkish Ambassador Discuss Joint Cooperation

BAGHDAD, The head of Border Crossing Authority, Kazem al-Aqabi, discussed with the Turkish ambassador in Iraq Fatih Yildiz, activating joint cooperation and developing trade movement between the two countries through creating new border ports.

A statement for Border Crossing Authority said. The two sides discussed the possibility of opening Fishkhabour port with the Turkish side to enhance the trade movement to achieve mutual benefit and ensure the smooth flow of goods between the two countries,"

For his part, the Turkish ambassador expressed his readiness to receive the technical committees concerned with the work of border crossings, stressing "to bear the cost of building the Iraqi port and strengthen it with the necessary infrastructure and the construction of railways to facilitate commercial movement."
