Company’s commitment to Bahrainisation, workers’ safety hailed

Labour and Social Development Minister and Board of Directors Chairman of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, has paid a visit to the Bahrain National Gas company (Banagas).

The minister met the company's Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and its administrative staff, in the presence of the Labour Ministry's officials.

Humaidan inspected the company's facilities and production units.

He also reviewed with Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa the company's achievements over the past four decades, and its contributions to supporting the national economy.

The minister, while meeting the company's emplyees, was informed about the the training programmes on ways to deal with equipment and machines, commending the Bahraini workers' outstanding efforts, competence and distinguished skills.

Humaidan lauded the role of Banagas in enhancing the national economy and in the kingdom's winning various regional and international awards, stressing that its reliance on national competencies in its production sectors have contributed to its progress.

He pointed out that the Bahraini human resources have become experienced in operating and running mega industrial projects thanks to the government's interest in training nationals in order to reach leadership posts in such firms.

He lauded the positive and fruitful relations between the company's management and its workers' union, noting that cooperation between the two sides has contributed to its successes.

The minister praised the company's Bahrainisatio policy, which reached 81%, which, he said, has made it a role model in this regard.

He also hailed the company's commitment to the principles of professional safety and health, and keenness to ensure a secure and accident-free work environment.
