Daher: To speed up formation of economic rescue government
MP Michel Daher on Thursday appealed to President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri to speed up the formation of an economic rescue government, calling on the country's political leaders to take into account the dire situation of Lebanese living, which is no longer tolerable.
After a meeting with the "Industrialists Union of the Bekaa" held at their headquarters in Zahle, the lawmaker sounded the alarm on the economically deteriorating situation in the country.
"Nothing can save the economic situation except the improvement of the industrial sector, increasing exports by $500 million, reducing imports in the same value, and creating 20,000 jobs," Daher explained.
"There is no value to any agreement if it does not guarantee social justice. The agreements between Lebanon and foreign countries have become a grievance against the Lebanese, contributing to their impoverishment and increasing unemployment in Lebanese society," Daher concluded.
