Delegation from Colorado School of Mines Explores King Saud University’s Efforts in Mining Research

Riyadh: A delegation from the Colorado School of Mines explored key research projects undertaken by the Sheikh Abdullah Alrushaid Chair for Earth Science Remote Sensing Research at King Saud University (KSU).

According to Saudi Press Agency, Chair Director Dr. Fahad Alshehri introduced the delegation to the chair’s scientific activities in Earth sciences and mining research, which leverage modern technologies such as remote sensing data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. He emphasized that mining is a vital pillar of the national economy under the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and showcased the chair’s achievements and published research in the field.

The two sides agreed to collaborate on research projects in mining utilizing advanced technologies and to organize workshops involving experts from the Colorado School of Mines. These workshops aim to develop the skills of Saudi students, researchers, and specialists while fostering knowledge exchange and coordination between the chair and the university.
