Bahrain to attend 2nd Eurasian Women’s Forum
St. Petersburg, The second Eurasian's Women Forum (EAWF) will open tomorrow, Thursday, in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Supreme Council for Women(SCW) Secretary-General Hala Al-Ansari will attend the event, alongside representatives of more than 100 countries worldwide.
The three-day forum aims to strengthen cooperation between women's leaders to tackle challenges and build trust and mutual respect in a world based on universal humanitarian values, rights and dignity.
It will bring together leading advocates of women's issues, women parliamentarians, executive officials, representatives of international organisations, civil society institutions and other key figures.
On the sidelines of the Eurasian Forum, Al-Ansari held a meeting today with the UAE Federal National Council President Amal Al-Qubaisi and discussed aspects of joint cooperation, regarding pro-women national legislations and the principle of gender equal opportunities.
They stressed the importance of building on successes of the Bahraini and Emirati women, promoting their landmark strides regionally and internationally, as well all their contribution to their countries' development and progress.
Al-Ansari also held a joint work meeting with Galina Karelova, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council, Head of the EAWF Working Group, and outlined Bahraini women's strides as well as political and economic participation.
Karelova also highlighted the EAWF agenda, which highlighting the growing role of women in finding solutions to key social, economic and humanitarian issues so as to bolster global security and peace.
The SCW Chief will hold similar meetings tomorrow, on the sidelines of the forum, with leading officials and participants. The council will also hold a high-level session tomorrow , Thursday, themed Pro-women global initiatives.
