Iran officially announces resumption of electricity export to Iraq
BAGHDAD, Iran has resumed exporting electricity to Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardkanian said on Saturday.
"The resumption of the export of electricity to neighboring countries and their commitment to energy commitments with these countries," Ardkanian told a conference marking the government's week at the Bernd energy plant in southwestern Tehran.
As for the payment of Iraq's debts related to the import of electricity from Iran, Ardkanian said that the Iraqi side began to pay gradually, expressing the hope to accelerate the pace of this process.
