PUK: Turkish Accusations Are Illogical
BAGHDAD, The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) reiterated its confirmation on holding elections in Kurdistan on September 30, pointing out that the Turkish accusations against the National Union is illogical.
"The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan has not and will not request postponement of the Kurdistan elections," said Saadi Ahmed Berah, spokesman for the PUK, according to the website of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, adding that the results of the counting and sorting of voters' votes were identical to those announced by the Independent Electoral Commission.
He added: The Turkish accusations against the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is not logical, because the PKK will not withdraw from Kandil if we asked them to do so.
He stressed that the policy of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is the approach of President Jalal Talabani, who tried to find a lasting peace in Turkey over and over again.
