Royal Approval Issued for the Establishment of Sarah Al-Sudairi Center for Women’s Studies at Princess Nourah University
Riyadh, Minister of Education Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh has announced a royal approval for the establishment of Sarah Al-Sudairi Center for Women’s Studies at Princess Nourah University with the aim of enhancing the role of women and their participation in society as well as supporting scientific research projects on women and their efforts in the comprehensive national development.
Dr. Al-Sheikh also announced today a SAR 20 million royal grant from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to support the center.
The Minister of Education expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, for the approval. Dr. Al-Sheikh underlined the leadership’s reiteration of the importance of women’s studies to foster scientific and methodological foundations that contribute to enriching the role of Saudi women and enhancing the Kingdom’s position in global competitiveness.
The minister stressed that the establishment of Sarah Al-Sudairi Center for Women’s Studies is a qualitative leap in women’s studies and providing activities, events and programs that contribute to building knowledge, strengthening partnership with community institutions, and maximizing the impact of women’s scientific and research contributions, in accordance with work goals and indexes observing the increase in participation, diversity of content, variety of scientific fields, and the return on national development.
He praised the scientific and research capabilities of Saudi women and their successes in this field, affirming that the center represents one of the important initiatives to support Saudi women based on the wise leadership’s belief in the pivotal role of women as active partners in the development process.
This decision adds to a continuous history of support for Saudi women and enables them to take more active part in society according to the Kingdom Vision 2030.
