Baghdad, The Commission for Human Rights on Sunday appealed to the United Nations and Arab countries to help flood victims in Iraq.
"Member of the Commission Fadel al-Gharawi said we call on the United Nations and the Arab and neighboring countries for urgent humanitarian relief to provide humanitarian assistance to the victims and to support the civil defense teams and the security forces to rescue the people trapped by the floods.
The Sunni Waqf Bureau ordered the opening of mosques to families affected by the torrential floods and heavy rains that have been sweeping Iraq for days.
The floods and rain hit several cities in Iraq, the strongest was in the district of Shirqat in Salah al-Din, where the floods hit 30 thousand homes, and caused the deaths of 10 people, including women and children.
