At least 10 people dead in Indonesia floods
Jakarta, At least 10 people have died and eight are missing after flooding and landslides hit some parts of Bengkulu province in Indonesia's Sumatra island, an official said on Sunday, according to dpa.
Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, a spokesman for the national disaster management agency, said torrential rain that has poured over the province since Friday afternoon has caused rivers to overflow and triggered landslides in many parts of Bengkulu.
"The disasters also damaged 184 houses and dozens of infrastructures as well as nine fisheries and maritime facilities in five districts," Nugroho said in a statement.
On Friday, two people died in Jakarta after some parts of the capital were inundated when several areas along the Ciliwung River banks overflowed following heavy rain in Bogor, West Java.
