Berri receives Palestinian factions, calls Arab League for urgent meeting over UNRWA
Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, on Monday called the Arab League to hold an urgent meeting to endorse a decision on funding the UNRWA, especially following the US decision to cease financing the agency.
"Such meeting is the sole beacon of light in this dark age," Berri said.
His remarks came during his meeting at his Ain-el-Tineh residence with a delegation of the Palestinian factions and forces in Lebanon, upon their signature of the national unity pact.
Separately, Berri met with MP Bahiya Hariri, over the current general situation on the local scene.
He later discussed the security situation in the country with General Security Chief, General Abbas Ibrahim.
Berri has earlier received former minister Mohammad Safadi, followed by Head of the Popular Bloc, Myriam Skaf.
