Samad: Sects’ representation monopoly inadmissible
MP Jihad Samad on Monday renewed rejection of "monopoly" in representing the religious sects and communities, calling for the adoption of a single standard to form the new government.
"Monopoly in sects' representation is inadmissible. We led the electoral battle to fight unilateralism," the lawmaker told an interview with Voice of Lebanon radio station.
"We are not hindering the government formation which has already taken five months," he said.
"Manipulating the system is refused. The powers of the Prime Minister and the rights of the sects are determined and nobody is allowed to alter them," he stressed.
