Voluntary Work Award jury to examine nominated projects
Manama, Under the patronage of the President of the Bahrain Basketball Association and Honorary President of the Good Word Society, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the jury of the Best Voluntary Project in Bahrain Award, will Saturday begin scrutinising the nominated projects.
Award Secretary-General Yacoub Bouhaza'a said that the jury, comprising Dr. Faleh Al-Ruwaily, Ahmed Al-Ahmadi and media personality Eman Marhoun, will assess 48 nominated projects presented by individuals, voluntary work teams and residents, and determine the winners of this year's edition.
He added that the award's organising committee aims to provide an opportunity for the participants to exchange expertise and experiences, as well as to promote the voluntary work culture nationwide.
He pointed out that the increasing number of participants in this year's edition reflects the success of the award in enhancing the awareness of the Bahraini society, particularly youth, of the importance of voluntary work, noting that the participants presented projects aimed at providing creative solutions to various social and economic problems.
He said that every individual, society or voluntary work team have the right to present their projects before the jury and answer their questions within five minutes.
He highlighted the interest of HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali, the award patron, in the massive participation of Bahraini youth in the award in order to increase their benefits and enhance their skills.
The US $ 15,000-2018 Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa Voluntary Work Award is sponsored by Tamkeen, BAS, VIVA, GPIC and Al-Baraka Group.
