First International Metagenomics, Microbiome Conference Kicks Off in Riyadh

Riyadh: Under the patronage of Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, the first International Metagenomics and Microbiome Conference began today in Riyadh. The event is organized by the Metagenome and Microbiome Association and brings together leading scientists and researchers from both within the Kingdom and abroad.

According to Saudi Press Agency, in her opening remarks, chairperson of the organizing committee and the association’s Board of Directors Dr. Hamsa Al-Tayeb described the conference as a pioneering scientific platform dedicated to showcasing the latest research developments and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration across the health, environmental, and industrial fields.

The opening ceremony featured a visual presentation highlighting the association’s initiatives, programs, and efforts to support scientific research and knowledge exchange. Several supporting organizations and companies were also honored during the event.

Additionally, cooperation agreements were signed with various research institutions and relevant entities, marking a step forward in collaborative scientific advancement.

The first day of the conference featured panel discussions, specialized workshops, and in-depth scientific sessions, highlighting cutting-edge findings in the fields of metagenomics and microbiome research.
