Foucher visits newly opened visa applicants’ center: TLS reflects France’s desire to provide better visa service for Lebanese
French Ambassador to Lebanon, Bruno Foucher, on Monday visited the newly-opened TLS Center for receiving visa applications, in the presence of Consul General Karim Ben Sheikh, TLS President in France, and regional directors.
The newly-inaugurated visa Center is located in Beirut Downtown with an area of 2,400 square meters. The Center enjoys an upgraded reception conditions to cope with the steady increase in the number of visa applications.
The new space can accommodate 800 visa applicants per day.
“The newfangled Center reflects France’s desire to provide a better visa service for the Lebanese,” Foucher told a press conference in the wake of the visit.
“France’s delivery of visas within 15 days makes it the fastest country in processing visa applications for the Schengen area in Lebanon,” he said.
The French envoy also noted that in eight years, the number of visas issued has doubled from 25,000 in 2009 to more than 52,000 in 2017.
Foucher also disclosed that two thousand student visas have been issued this year.
