Riyadh: The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) is organizing the First Saudi Statistics Forum under the slogan ‘Statistics for Sustainable Opportunities’ on April 27-28 in Riyadh. The event will feature participation from several ministers, heads, and representatives of international organizations and statistical offices from various countries. More than 300 individuals interested in statistical work are expected to attend.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the forum will cover a range of topics over five sessions. The first session will discuss ‘The Role of Statistics in Policy and Decision-Making.’ The second session will focus on ‘International Statistical Methodologies and Practices.’ The third will address ‘Innovation and Development in Statistical Methods.’ Participants in the fourth session will examine ‘The Role of the Private Sector in Supporting and Producing Statistical Data,’ and the final session will cover ‘Integration between Statistical Institutions and Data Users.’
The Saudi Statistics Forum is the first of its kind and aims to address significant topics at the statistical level. It seeks to demonstrate the influence of the statistics sector on supporting progress and sustainable development in the Kingdom.
