GCC Secretary-General Praises UN Decision to Extend UNRWA Mandate

Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi welcomed the resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly to renew the mandate of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) for three additional years, until 2029.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi emphasized that UNRWA's role is more important today than ever, given the escalating challenges the Palestinian people are experiencing. He reiterated the GCC states' support for the agency's programs and projects, highlighting their steadfast commitment to the Palestinian cause, the preservation of the Palestinian people's legitimate rights, and the sustainability of UNRWA's operations.
