Bassil from Montreal hails ‘Greater Lebanon’
The third Lebanese Diaspora Energy Conference for North America, which had been held in Montreal, winded up its final session with a speech by Caretaker Foreign Minister, Gebran Bassil, who said that the conference had opened new horizons "based on young people's potential in the diaspora."
Announcing that the next conference will take place in Washington in September 2019, Bassil said that it would be a preparatory step for the 2020 conference, which will celebrate the centenary of Greater Lebanon, in an exceptional session.
According to his words, "it will be a ceremony that well suits the Greater Lebanon that we seek."
"Your success begets Lebanon's success. We do not want to be successful whilst Lebanon is a failing country; we will fail alone if we do not succeed collectively, so let's join hands to succeed and have Lebanon succeed through us to prevail," Bassil said.
