Berri from Geneva: Conspiracy against Lebanon hasn’t ended
Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, currently in Geneva, maintained that the conspiracy targeting Lebanon was still unfinished, but that Lebanon will definitely triumph over it.
Lebanon Ambassador to Switzerland, Roula Noureddine, and Lebanon Ambassador to the UN, Salim Baddoura, hosted last night (Tuesday) a dinner banquet in honor of Berri and the accompanying delegation, currently in Geneva to partake in the General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
In his word, the Speaker reminded that Lebanon was the only country in the Middle East that succeeded in defeating Israel on one hand, and takfiri terrorism on the other.
"Lebanon is now in its self-victory battle," he added.
"This self-victory is defined by the formation of the Lebanese government," he stressed.
"I cannot say that the formation process has been finalized; but I can say that progress is happening in leaps and bounds," he indicated.
Moreover, Berri broached the refugee issue in Lebanon.
"As you know, there are 1.5 to 2 million [refugees] in Lebanon," he reminded.
"Until now, the international community is still speaking about the right of the displaced to participate in the political process. Lebanon is not yet done with the conspiracy," he said.
"But I assure you that we shall triumph," he concluded.
