Zeaiter to NNA: Ship carrying infected cows will not enter Lebanon
Caretaker Minister of Agriculture Ghazi Zeaiter assured the National News Agency (NNA) that "the ship carrying "the ship carrying cows infected with anthrax cannot enter Lebanon and will arrive in Beirut and change its crew outside the port without entering it."
Earlier, some news websites reported that the ship "Rahma" left the port of Istanbul after it was prevented from unloading its cargo of cattle suspected of being infected with anthrax, although papers show that the destination of the ship is Gibraltar.
The NNA also contacted the Head of the Imports and Exports and the Veterinary Quarantine Department at the Agriculture Ministry, Yahia Khattar, who categorically denied the circulated rumor.
