Gulf states won’t meddle in government formation: Rizk

The Gulf states, especially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, do not and will not meddle in the formation of Lebanon's new government, Head of the Lebanese-Saudi Business Development Commission, Elie Rizk, maintained in a statement on Monday.

"These brotherly countries have a good relation with the different Lebanese political forces and sects, and they wish permanent stability and prosperity for the Lebanese state and people," he said.

Nonetheless, Rizk indicated that the Gulf did not want "some Lebanese forces to interfere in its domestic affairs in order to shake its security and stability."
