Health minister meets WHO official

Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh today received World Health Organisation (WHO) Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Dr. Ahmed bin Salim Al-Mandhari, currently on visit to Bahrain.

The meeting was attended by Health Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Walid Al-Manea, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Dr. Mariam Al-Hajeri and Assistant Undersecretary for Primary Healthcare Dr. Manal Al-Alawi.

The minister welcomed the (WHO) Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Dr. Al-Mandhari and the WHO Representative in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain Dr. Ibrahim Al-Zaiq stressing the importance of such visits to further bolster relations binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the World Health Organisation.

The meeting focused on aspects of Bahrain's health system and ministry-led initiatives to ensure a better future for healthcare in the Kingdom. The two sides reviewed the National Health Survey in the Kingdom of Bahrain (2018) being conducted by the ministry, in cooperation with the Information and Electronic Government Authority (iGA).
