‘HH Shaikh Khalid’s initiatives strengthen social cohesion’
Muharraq Club Bahraini Football Star, former Captain of Bahrain National Football Team Adnan Daif has praised the Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League, held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, Honorary President of Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation, urging coaches to attend its competitions to explore new talent.
The league is held this year with the wide participation of youth centres, national clubs, young women, disabled individuals, ministries and communities. Daif said, "HH Shaikh Khalid has asserted his support of the youth of the Kingdom through this league and other initiatives which positively affect youth and develop their capabilities.
"HH Shaikh Khalid is known for his initiatives that serve the community in various fields, in view of its interests and orientations," he explained. He expressed his pride in the presence of players from different parts of the Kingdom in many teams, which enhances society's cohesion, strengthens it against division, thanks to such youth and sports activities.
Pioneering Idea
Director of the Corporate Tax Directorate at the Ministry of Finance, Nawaf Alsadeh hailed the organisation of the league as a pioneering idea, as it brings together diverse segments of society that are similar in many aspects to fairly compete for victory.
Sports Ministry defeat Ministry of Finance
The Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs team secured a last-gasp 3-2 win over the Ministry of Finance's team in Group 2, largely thanks to their goalkeeper Ali Saeed who made multiple stunning saves to help his team bag valuable three points.
The match was held on Wednesday at Khalifa Sports City on Wednesday, and Saeed was named the best player of the game. Moreover, the Ministry of Information Affairs team bagged a valuable 7-4 over the Ministry of Health team, with the latter being knocked out from the tournament after bagging only three points. The winners, meanwhile, have seven points and their chances to qualify for the semi-finals are alive. Mohammed Isa scored a hat-trick during the match to allow his team to achieve a superb victory and collect the best player of the match award. Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry thrashed the the Institute of Public Administration 20-0. Ali Mansoor scored 6 goals in this game and he achieved the best player of the game award too. Furthermore, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism achieved their first win in the tournament after defeating the Housing Ministry 10-6. Eshaq Abdulkareem contributed seven goals to drive his team towards victory and take home the best player of the match award.
