1.15 bn working hours pledged by Peace Messengers
New York, A delegation of the Saudi Scouts Association (SSA) has shared King Carl Gustaf XVI of Sweden, Honorary President of the Global Scouts Finance Fund, delivering a token of 1.15 billion working hours by the Peace Messengers to the United Nations.
For his part, King Gustaf lauded the role of peace messengers' campaign launched from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2011 and since implemented eight million local projects that contributed to achieving the 17 sustainable development goals projected by the United Nations, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
A number of speakers hailed the key and important role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the crown prince in support of the peace messengers project. The ceremony was held at the UN headquarters in New York.
