Geagea says Independent Sunni Deputies’ obstacle fabricated
Lebanese Forces Party Leader, Samir Geagea, said Sunday that the "so-called Independent Sunni Deputies knot which hinders the formation of the government is a fabricated complication."
Speaking at a conference for LF partisans in North America via Skype, Geagea added that the recent escalation in Gaza and the obstacles in the way of forming the Lebanese government were part of Iran's efforts to face US pressures.
According to LF Chief, the formation of the government is the sole responsibility of the Prime Minister-designate and the President of the Republic, by virtue of the right given to them by the Constitution.
In the same context, Geagea noted that it was difficult to foresee future developments in the government formation process, especially since it is no longer tied to local calculations. He added that the delay could last several months.
Geagea concluded that "the LF Party is the first to fight the enemies of Lebanon, which is why these enemies are struggling to distort the image of the Party and impede its progress."
