Saudi Arabia calls to protect Palestinian refugees
New York, Saudi Arabia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Maalami, stressed that Saudi Arabia affirms the right of return for Palestinian refugees.
In the kingdom's speech to the 4th Committee on the item of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, he said that Israel continues to insist on not accepting the Arab Peace Initiative, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
He pointed out that Saudi Arabia attaches great importance to the Palestinian cause and considers it as its first cause. He added that the between 2000 and 2018, the kingdom provided UNRWA with nearly $1 billion.
