Marvels of Saudi Orchestra Concludes Sixth Tour in Riyadh

Riyadh: Under the patronage of Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Music Commission Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, the commission concluded the sixth tour of the Marvels of Saudi Orchestra at the King Fahd Cultural Center in Riyadh.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the three-night event featured 95 performers from the Saudi National Orchestra and Choir, alongside seven performing arts groups. The concert was attended by the commission’s CEO Paul Pacifico, as well as dignitaries, businessmen, artists, media representatives, and a large audience.

In his opening remarks, Pacifico praised the first presentation of the Marvels of Saudi Orchestra in the Kingdom, following a series of successful international tours that showcased Saudi musical heritage and strengthened global cultural ties. He acknowledged the support of the minister of culture in achieving these successes.

The concert featured the talents of the Saudi National Orchestra and Choir, collaborating with local performing arts groups to present a diverse repertoire inspired by Saudi music traditions, including folk music and dances like Samri, Yanbaawi, and Lewa.

This event shared Saudi cultural identity with a wide audience, highlighting the growing interest in local arts and celebrating the history of Saudi music, thereby bolstering the Kingdom’s cultural presence locally and globally.

The Marvels of Saudi Orchestra embarked on a worldwide tour, performing at prestigious theaters beginning in Paris, traveling through Mexico and New York, captivating audiences in London, and wrapping up in Tokyo in November 2024. This series of performances reflects the Music Commission’s dedication to supporting musical talent and elevating the status of Saudi music both at home and abroad.
