Spanish ambassador on Spain National Day: Relations between two countries well established
The Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon, Jose Maria Ferre de la Pena, hosted a reception on the occasion of his country's national day in the presence of caretaker Minister of National Defense, Yaacoub Sarraf, representing President Michel Aoun, MP Jean Obaid, representing Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, caretaker Minister of Telecommunications, Jamal Al-Jarrah, representing Prime Minister Saad Hariri, MP Fouad Makhzoumi, and high-ranking dignitaries and officials.
The Spanish ambassador congratulated the Lebanese on the completion of the parliamentary elections, "which are the most beautiful form of democratic life," stressing "the deep-rooted relations between Lebanon and Spain.
"Ties are well established and developing at all levels," he said.
"The Spanish contingent operating within the UNIFIL in southern Lebanon to maintain peace and security in that area, which has been through many wars, is building close bonds with the people. Cooperation is thus great in terms of development and other aspects," the diplomat concluded.
