Misk Empowers Innovators, Entrepreneurs through Inclusive Apps Hackathon in Riyadh

Riyadh: The Mohammed bin Salman Foundation (Misk), represented by the Misk Entrepreneurship Track, organized the Super Apps Hackathon on April 18-19 at the City Hub in the Mohammed bin Salman Nonprofit City in Riyadh. The event was held in collaboration with the “Balady” platform, which contributes to enhancing urban services, smart city infrastructure, and public well-being across the Kingdom.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this collaboration, channeled through the entrepreneurial community, enables Balady to transform innovative solutions emerging from the hackathon into real-world applications aimed at improving urban services and smart city infrastructure, driving digital transformation, and making cities more efficient and sustainable. The initiative aligns with the foundation’s vision of positioning Mohammed bin Salman Nonprofit City as a leading urban hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.

Out of more than 1,000 applicants, 240 participants were selected to compete in the hackathon. They included specialists in artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies. A total of 56 teams were formed, representing various nationalities. The hackathon also saw the participation of several tech startups, along with mentorship and guidance from experts in AI and blockchain. The competition aimed to equip young participants with the tools needed to develop solutions and products and present them to a panel of expert judges.
