More than 1,000 earthquakes hit Iran in a month

BAGHDAD, About 1,130 earthquakes hit Iran in a month, the most in Iran's southeastern province of Kerman, according to a monthly report by the Iran Seismological Center.

The National Center recorded 17 earthquakes between May and June, which were more than 4.0 on the Richter scale and reached a peak of 5 degrees in June in the town of Raor in Kerman province.

According to the Iranian Geological Survey, three provinces, Kermanshah, Kerman and Hermazgan, have been shaken 41 times since Sunday evening until Monday morning, indicating that the epicenter is located in these three provinces.

The nature of the earthquake points to its centrality in the three provinces, which requires crisis management officials to be more precise in planning, to avoid confusion and chaos, such as the one last year's Kermanshah earthquake.

Two earthquakes measuring 5.7 and 5.9 hit the provinces of Hormuzgan and Kermanshah. At the same time, more than 50 aftershocks were recorded in Kermanshah, 9 of which were more than 3 degrees strong .
