KSrelief Mobile Medical Clinics in Al-Gharza, Yemen, Continue Providing Treatment to Beneficiaries

Hajjah, Yemen, The mobile medical clinics, affiliating to the Riyadh-based King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in Al-Gharza District, Hajjah Governorate of Yemen continued providing treatment to beneficiaries.

During the period from 13 to 19 May 2021, as many as 149 patients reported to the clinics with various health conditions, where they were provided with the necessary health care. The clinics conducted three waste disposal activities.

Public Investment Fund Holds Partnership with E1 Series to Launch World’s First Electric Powerboats Championship

Riyadh, The Public Investment Fund (PIF) here today announced signing an agreement with Electric Sea Racing Limited (E1 Series) to create the world’s first electric powerboat racing championship.

The partnership forms a main step in creating the championship and speeding up preparations for the debut season scheduled to take place in early 2023, where the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is among candidate locations to host the first edition of the race.

The partnership was announced during a virtual inauguration ceremony that saw the participation of the E1 Series senior officials, where the ceremony also witnessed announcing the new designs of the electric powerboats RaceBirds.

The PIF is considered a major contributor to the global economy and a main driver for efforts of the digital transformation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where this investment accords with the PIF’s 2021-2025 strategy that focuses on 13 strategic sectors, including entertainment, tourism and sports, service facilities and renewable energy. The PIF’s investments in future industries are seen in several companies and projects, such as ACWA Power Company, Sudair Project in the renewable energy industry, and Lucid Motors in the electric vehicles industry.

Governor of the Public Investment Fund Yasir Al-Rumayyan said: “We are proud to establish this unique partnership in a sport with a new concept, which comes within the PIF’s strategy to enable innovation globally, open new horizons for future industries, and build up strategic economic partnerships. He also said that the new design of the RaceBird boat will contribute to accelerate the pace of changing the industry and providing sustainable solutions for entertainment and tourist vessels in the future, expressing hope to work with the PIF to move forwards towards a new era of fast electric powerboats.

AOUN DISCUSSES WITH HEAD OF DIGNITY MOVEMENT GENERAL DEVELOPMENTS AND SITUATION IN NORTH

President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, received Chairman of the “Dignity Movement” MP Faisal Karami, today at the Presidential Palace.

The meeting focused on general developments in the country and the situation in north Lebanon.

“Although the discussion in the meeting is the privity of the President, but for my part, I conveyed to His Excellency the President a complaints and people’s cry about the deteriorating economic situation, and its repercussions on social life and on citizens, and I listened to him about his suffering on the issue of forming a government.

Of course we are watching how the economic, production and living sectors are collapsing one after the other, so we stressed that the only way out for all these problems starts with the formation of a government. We we call on those concerned to sit with each other until they come up with a government that satisfies the people and the nation. We are witnessing an initiative led now by the Speaker Berri, we wish him success so that it will be a good gesture to proceed in saving what can be saved at this difficult and delicate period in Lebanon.

I also informed His Excellency, the president, on the form of the recent decision by the committee on the issue of export to the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which restricts all exports from the port of Beirut. We, as representatives of the city of Tripoli, conveyed the complaint to His Excellency the President, and we were promised that the President will address it.

Answer: “There is a designated prime minister, God willing things should go well”.

Minister Al-Aiban Meets with UK Foreign Secretary

Riyadh, The Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet and National Security Adviser Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, met here today with British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab.

During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations, including the progress of the work of the joint committees and ways to enhance them in the fields of defense, security and political cooperation within the framework of the Saudi-British Strategic Partnership Council.

The meeting was attended by Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom and a number Saudi and UK officials.

FAHMI MEETS MP OKEIS, UN’S WRONECKA, MOUCHARAFIEH, MORTADA

Caretaker Interior and Municipalities Minister, Mohammad Fahmi, on Monday received in his office at the ministry, MP George Okeis, with whom he discussed several legal matters.

Minister Fahmi also received the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Lebanon, UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Joanna Wronecka, who paid him an acquaintance visit upon assuming her new duties in the country.

Emphasis was made during the meeting on the importance of forming a government as soon as possible since it is the key to solutions. The two sides also agreed to continue the partnership between Lebanon and the United Nations and all its programmes.

Fahmi also met with Caretaker Minister of Social Affairs and Tourism, Professor Ramzi Moucharafieh, with whom he discussed the promising tourist season and security coordination to maintain security in summer tourist areas.

Fahmi also met with Caretaker Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Abbas Mortada, with whom he discussed the dossier of agricultural exports to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

KSrelief Launches Voluntary Medical Campaigns to Combat Blindness in Pakistan for the year 2021

Karachi, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) delegation based in the Ibrahim Eye Hospital in Karachi, launched the voluntary medical campaigns to combat blindness in Pakistan for the year 2021, in cooperation with the International Al-Basr Charitable Foundation, in the presence of the Saudi Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki, a number of Pakistani officials, and the KSrelief’s team.

The medical campaigns which consist of six campaigns, with the participation of Saudi doctors and volunteers, will continue until the end of June. As many as 30,000 patients will be diagnosed, 2,400 complex optical surgeries be performed and 6,000 eyeglasses be distributed.

Coming in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in supporting volunteer work, the voluntary medical campaigns funded and implemented by the KSrelief, are in response to humanitarian appeals.

Doha, The Secretary General of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, currently on a visit to Qatar, met here today with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to promote common action among GCC member states, in a way that meets the anticipations of its leaders as well as peoples of the member states, in addition to boosting the GCC status, at the regional and international arenas.

KSrelief Launches Voluntary Medical Campaign for Open Heart Surgery and Catheterization in Mauritania

Nouakchott, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched a voluntary medical campaign for open heart surgery and catheterization in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania for the year 2021, it was reported here today.

During the first day of the campaign, which started yesterday, the volunteer medical team conducted 16 surgeries, including seven open-heart surgeries and nine catheterization surgeries, all were successful.

For his part, the Saudi Ambassador to Mauritania Dr. Hazaa bin Zabin Al-Mutairi, paid an inspection visit to the hospital where the team performed operations.

ECONOMIC COMMITTEE CONVENES TOMORROW

The Parliamentary Economic Committee will hold a meeting tomorrow, Monday, at 9:00 in the morning, with the caretaker Minister of Defense and Deputy Prime Minister, Zeina Akar, caretaker Ministers of Interior and Industry Mohamed Fahmy and Imad Hoballah, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the temporary building near the Government Serail.

The meeting aims to follow up on the government’s plan to address the ban on exports to Saudi Arabia and view its details and the extent of its implementation and will be followed by a press conference in Parliament at 9:45 a.m., to announce the position of the Economy Committee on this serious development that threatens agricultural crops and industrial production in all its branches.
