Machnouk pursues official visit to Saudi Arabia
Caretaker Interior and Municipalities Minister, Nouhad Machnouk, currently on an official visit to Saudi Arabia, held a lengthy meeting with Saudi Intelligence Chief Lieutenant General Khaled Hmaidan, over an array of security affairs and cooperation between Lebanon and the Kingdom in this regard.
Discussions also covered most recent developments in the Arab region.
It is worth-mentioning that this is the first official visit by Minister Machnouk to Saudi Arabia since his assumption of his ministerial duties in 2014.
Afterwards, Machnouk moved to the headquarters of Saudi State Security Service, where he held a prolonged meeting with State Security chief, Political and Economic Council member, Major General Abdul Aziz Al-Huwairini, over the Lebanese-Saudi relations and current political developments.
During the one-on-one meeting, the Saudi official underlined the Saudi leadership's keenness on Lebanon's political and economic stability as well the Kingdom's openness to all Lebanese sects "to serve the unity of the Lebanese position and the Arabism of Lebanon."
The senior Saudi official also stressed Saudi leadership's keenness on the success of PM-Designate Saad Hariri in his mission to form the new Lebanese government.
Major General Al-Huwairini hosted a dinner banquet in honor of Machnouk and his accompanying delegation, attended by scores of security chiefs and Advisor at the Royal Court Nizar Al-Aloula.
