Rahi, interlocutors tackle overall situation
Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rahi, on Tuesday received at his summer patriarchal seat in Diman "Future" bloc MP Dima Rashid Jamali, with talks reportedly touching on the general situation in the country.
MP Jamali hoped that the new government would be swiftly formed.
Patriarch Rahi urged all political forces to cooperate with Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri in his efforts to form the new Cabinet.
The Patriarch also received respectively Armenian Ambassador to Lebanon, Samuel Makretichian, Colonel Boutros Al-Hashem and Colonel Henry Mansour.
Lebanese Ambassador to Chile Juman Khaddaj also visited the Patriarch.
At noon, Rahi met with "Marada" Movement head, former MP Sleiman Franjieh, who offered the Patriarch condolences on the passing away of his sister.
On emerging, Franjieh said that the visit was an occasion to dwell on the pressing political and economic situation in the country, notably in terms of the government formation process.
Franjieh said that the government formation is facing certain impediments, stressing the dire need for positive competitiveness in this regard rather than negativity.
