Works Ministry implements road projects
Manama, Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry has implemented several road projects to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of students, as part of its preparations for the new school year.
Director of Projects and Roads Maintenance, Sayed Badr Alaw, said the ministry had prepared a plan to implement a number of vital projects near schools to avoid traffic jams and provide a secure environment for students and other road users.
Works included paving Road 1434 near the Hamad Town Intermediate Boys' School in Hamad Town and revamped Road 1601 near the Omar bin Abdulaziz School in Halat Bu-Maher in Muharraq, he said.
They also included painting pedestrian crossings, speed humps, traffic signs, ground lines and sidewalks, maintenance of traffic signs, as well as installing and maintaining pedestrian barriers to raise the level of traffic safety in the roads surrounding schools.
