Roundabout works launched
The Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning today launched works to develop a right turn lane on the Crown Prince's Roundabout on Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Road in Block 1204, aimed at reducing traffic congestion across the intersection.
The works form part of a second roads optimisation package launched in response to HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister's directives to develop urgent solutions to ease traffic flow across the Kingdom.
The ministry confirmed that the works will ease congestion by transferring traffic travelling from the west on the Crown Prince's Road to Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Road in the south, increasing the capacity of the road to 900 vehicles per hour.
The Ministry also noted that the works would ease traffic congestion at the intersection of Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Road and Shaikh Isa bin Salman Road, and improve access to Aali, Salmabad, Isa Town and Riffa.
