Royal tribute to Bahraini-Indian relations

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today received India' Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj, marking holding the second meeting of the Bahrain-India Joint Commission in Bahrain.

HM the King praised the longstanding Bahraini-Indian relations highlighted by mutual respect and cooperation in various fields.

The Indian Foreign Minster conveyed greetings of India's President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to HM the King and to the people of Bahrain wishes of further progress and well-being. HM the King extended his best wishes to the Indian President and Prime Minister and to the Indian people wishes of more development and prosperity.

HM the King welcomed the cooperation agreements in political, economic, trade and investment areas singed during the second Bahrain-India Joint Commission meeting.

HM the King congratulated the minister on the opening of the new building of the Indian Embassy, welcoming the contribution of the Indian community to the national construction and development process. He pointed out India's pivotal role at the Asian and international levels in maintaining international peace.

The Indian minister hailed the royal efforts to promote the bilateral relations, stressing her country's keenness to further strengthen friendship and cooperation relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain.
