Sarraf, Richard tackle general situation

Caretaker National Defense Minister, Riad Yacoub al-Sarraf, welcomed on Thursday the US Ambassador to Lebanon, Elizabeth Richard, who stressed her country's support for the military institution.

The visit comes in the context of Lebanon's army day anniversary.

Talks between the pair reportedly touched on the current situation in Lebanon and the broader region.

Minister Sarraf also met with a delegation of the "Islamic Tawheed" Movement led by its Politburo head Saheeb Shaaban.

Discussions covered developmental projects related to the northern city of Tripoli.
